As it stands, you are only using direct lighting and shading, not really utilizing any reflected color and lighting. This is very obvious in the necromancer pic, there should be a great big glow of green on just about everything.

Keep up the good work
All good criticisms. ^^

The depth of field is basically a by-product of my working style, in which I do the character first, then an interesting background and literally "paste" them onto the background. This can affect not only the depth of the image, but also the general perspective. As you rightly point out, it's not always a perfect match The Kryta background in particular was done almost like a postcard, based on a few in game screenshots, and had the characters added only once it was complete. The water, especially on the elementalist, was almost an afterthought, to unify the characters and the background. The background I'm least happy with, out of all the images so far, is the "sunset" triptych, I think the reason it came out a little awkward, was because I was trying to get 3 distinct moods in a very short space. However, having said all this, since the character is the focal point of the image, having them stand apart a little from their surroundings is not always a bad thing.

As for the lighting, that is indeed somthing I've been thinking about myself, and somthing I will probably work on improving.

About the guitar, I didn't even think about it to be honest. Personally, I'd be more concerned about how a ranger could ride a moa bird bareback, whilst firing a bow, if I was going for consistency >_>

Personally, I find looking at my own work simply a case of looking at what went wrong, or what could be improved in an image. That's one of the main reasons I will never draw my own characters, because I would be looking at all the artistic mistakes I made, and not the character. There are things I'd change in every single one of my images, looking at them now with hindsight. But there has to be a point at which you stop working, and call it done. So long as the people who requested the image are happy, you had fun whilst working on it, and can learn from any mistakes, it's all good

o and btw have you ever got to the end of ur list? myn keeps getting biger :S
Far from it, demand far outstrips supply I can usually only manage to get one or two pictures done every week or so, at last count, I have enough people queued up to continue drawing for at least six months before I reach the end of my (now frozen) list :s

I'm in no danger there, I have expensive tastes >_>. Since I started doing commissions, my gold ballance hasn't gone above 200k, I just spend it all too fast

Whilst I won't deny that this is giving me a good income, the rate at which I complete the works, isn't amazing (let's say on average 1 a week) In the days when I used to farm for gold, I'd be pulling in that much cash easily. So whilst it's making me comfortable, all it really means in terms of my finances, is that I'm drawing instead of farming. The way I look at it, I'm not really in this to get rich (if I were, I could probably increase my prices somewhat, and target myself at the uber rich crowed) I based my prices on the time I spend on these pictures, and roughly how much that translates into GW gold.

What do grand master cartographer gladiator's do on holiday? Relax on the beach with a cool cocktail, and consult their maps and charts for new places to explore of course.

But life can never be simple.... can it!

One of the reasons why i like summertime and beaches
After the "kind of a big deal" poor Valeria surely deserves some holidays.
